ABOUT US
I created battle grounds out of a profound love for gaming, coffee, and clever puns. I saw a definite lack of this type of establishment not only in my area, but in general. When running the idea of a gaming cafe that mixes elements of gaming lounges and what you might expect from a campus Starbucks, people seemed to genuinely love the idea and wish it was a real place. That was all the proof of concept I needed. I saw a hole in the market and created Battle Grounds to fill that space.
Some people ask why we don't offer any sort of dinner service. There's two reasons. First and foremost, Battle Grounds primary revenue is generated through admission. People pay a cover charge to use our a equipment which is largely provided to us free through sponsorships. Thus, we aren't as reliant on all day food sales for our success as our competitors. The second reason is that we don't want to give our more hardcore gamers a reason to spend their ENTIRE day in our establishment. Gaming addiction is real and can be harmful to one's health. By not offering dinner, we encourage people to get up from their chairs once in a while. They can go eat, get some fresh air, and hopefully socialize in the process.
